BLOWDOWN VALVES VYC 660/660A

The water in a steam boiler contains salts that accumulate through constant evaporation. To prevent the formation of these calcium deposits, the water supply must be suitably treated, with the result that some salts are converted into impurities. These impurities form a sludge which settles on the walls or bottom of the vessel together with other impurities such as residues from the electrodes and carbonic acid. This leads to a high degree of corrosion which can destroy the metal wall of the boiler and cause high maintenance costs. At the same time, uneven heat loads can be generated, which significantly slows down heat transfer = excessive fuel consumption.

REALIZED PROJECTS

HEAVY-DUTY PNEUMATIC ACTUATORS

Quifer's fast-acting pneumatic actuator assemblies were delivered as part of the October project. The closing time for all sizes is a maximum of 1s. The actuators are designed with redundant actuation, which is handled by 3/2 Rotork valves. The accessories (Rotech end sensors and Asco solenoid valves) are wired in a terminal box and provide the possibility of function testing (partial-stroke test). The actuators will be installed on safety shut-off valves in DN1000 and PN6 pressure class as part of the Energy from Waste project for EEW Energy from Waste.
