RB-90 KNIFE RUPTURE DISCS

BS&B® has developed the first reverse rupture disc with knife-edge technology. The product was named RB-90™ and is still available from BS&B today. The RB-90™ was the first design using a reverse-type diaphragm and provided significant user benefits over conventional discs of the time: higher operating ratios from 80% to 90% burst pressure, higher durability under cyclic operating conditions, minimal fragmentation, full vacuum resistance, and a wider range of burst pressures. However, with the advancement of reverse disc technology, BS&B's R&D team has developed ways to achieve all of these and other benefits by using different opening techniques after rupture disc activation, such as precision scoring techniques instead of knife blades. Bursting discs in a knife holder assembly continue to provide a reliable solution for protecting equipment in the event of excessive pressure or vacuum. FAST-ACTING PNEUMATIC ACTUATORS

We delivered fast-acting pneumatic actuator assemblies from Quifer and Airtorque as part of a project in April. The closing time for all sizes is a maximum of 1s. The actuators are designed with redundant actuation, which is handled by 3/2 Rotork valves. The accessories (Rotech end sensors and Asco solenoid valves) are wired in a terminal box and provide the possibility of function testing (partial-stroke test).

REALIZED PROJECTS

PNEUMATIC ASSEMBLIES WITH POSITIONERS

For a domestic customer in the food industry, we designed a technical solution and supplied 50 sets of valves and control systems. Thanks to the sufficient amount of material in our stock and the speed of the assembly department, it was possible to meet the planned start date for the assembly work during the reconstruction of the production technology. This involved the supply of TTV DN40 - DN500 WAFER valves with a centrally mounted disc, OMAL double-acting pneumatic actuators and VT1000 series electro-pneumatic positioners.
